In America, they are becoming very popular, with close to 40% of young adults having at least one. Is it that popular in europe? Is tattooing frowned upon? Are young people changing the perception of tattoos?
No, tattooing is not frowned upon in Europe. In fact, I think that’s where tattoos first appeared was in Europe, and has become even more popular, in the last few years. According to About.com Europeans wear tattoos with pride and zeal, having them all over their bodies.
Don’t they want to get jobs later in life?
I suspect it is the cumulative effect of substance abuse, which leads to poor decision making skills, that would cause someone to make such a huge mistake. Also, hanging around a sub culture where tattoos are accepted and even cool (like Yahoo Answers, where all the tattoo proponents gather together to encourage each other) would lead to a similar erosion in decision making skills.
"Emotional risks [of tattoos] include negative feelings you might have as a result of getting a tattoo or piercing. Social risks are those that could damage your relationship with others, including friends, parents, teachers, and employers. . . For example, body modification can affect your chances for future employment. Certain jobs are not available to people who have visible body art."
(Bonnie B. Graves, Tattooing and body piercing, p. 43)
"The fact that so many people change their minds [about their tattoos] should lead you to think carefully about whether you want to lock yourself into a fashion statement that might cause you a lot of aggravation and heartache later in life." (Laura Reybold, Everything you need to know about the dangers of tattooing and body piercing, p. 32)
"What so few realize, tragically, is that such a mark [tattoo] becomes the albatross around the neck for all time." (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 181)

If you haven’t had one before, i would say the smaller, and less shading the better. But it just depends how you cope with the pain. I would get the small wrist one (3) as my first was quite big and hurt more than my smaller ones. i hope it looks great. x

I want a smallish tattoo. I don’t want the colors to turn out to be a mix of crap like most tattoos turn out. Any ideas?
Oh yeah, do they hurt?
I think you should get a tattoo that has meaning to your life. Its going to be on your body forever why not make it a good story when someone ask you about it? And if you get a small tattoo do it to were they put a line between the colors so that over time it won’t bleed together to bad. Like a white line or a little skin colored line would do.
And it depends on where you get the on your body and if you trust the person who does it and if they are good. If you get it some where were you have more meat on your body then it won’t hurt as much but if you get it some where there is bone it is GOING to hurt, however you get the person or a friend to talk to you while you are getting your tattoo done it won’t hurt as much because your mind will be some where else (proven fact).
I hope i helped and think before you ink.
I have 3 tattoos. I recently got a 15 year old tattoo that was badly faded covered with a completely black tattoo. I don’t remember the others peeling so much, but they all have color. I have been taking good care of it. I applied bacitracin for the first 3 days twice a day. Now, I am using Curel Fragrance Free Lotion to keep it moist. It is not scarred, just peeling. Isn’t peeling normal?
i would have to say yes, but they do not fade as fast as colored, all my tats are black and look better than friends who have color, black is classic, u cant go wrong

Like this, but something other than stars, maybe a bow, trangle…something.
Yes, i am a girl, and i have a short bob type hair cut. I was wondering what would look good there though, a triangle? barcode?
Yeah. tattoos in that place tend to suit women a lot more too. I prefer them to be a little lower down than the one in the picture but it’s entirely up to you on whether they look good or not.
