Is there music making software where I can hum into the microphone & convert the melody into instruments?

Is there any type of music making software where I can hum into the microphone & then have that melody converted into different types of instruments????? Does software like this exist???? I hear symphonies in my head, but I have no ability to play any instruments, write music, nor do I understand any type of musical theory….but I can hum them out. Any suggestions????

If you’re on a PC, you’ll need to google search it, but if on a Mac, Garageband does all of those things. Its included in with iLife, and comes on all new macs.

Is there any simple music making software like the one in Little Big Planet 2?

I’ve been making lots of music on the music sequencer in lbp2, but its a bit limited. Is there an equivalent piece of software for the PC?

Notessimo 2 is basically the same as Mario Paint which is really easy to use.

I am wanting software that will let me record simple acoustic guitar, voice pieces and make music. I am wanting to add a little techno flair to my music to my songs. I personally like the finaille and the Vocaloid programs, but not the money at the moment to buy ether. I heard about something that is a free version of Vocaloid called pocaloid, anyone know anything about that?

Like Cody suggested, Audacity is a good choice for recording and editing, and it’s free.

Pocaloid is the name of the illegal version of the Vocaloid software whose coding has been cracked to allow unlimited use without purchase.

Software similar to Vocaloid is UTAU. It also allows you to create a voicebank by inputting your own voice, something that can’t be done with Vocaloid, and it’s freeware.

I need to know about any music makers you know of. They need to be able to create and save music (notably piano, but I would appreciate being able to make other music) on the computer. Open-source or freeware is preferred to trial software or software that you have to buy. (I need something that doesn’t require winRAR as I do not have it.) It would be very much appreciated if someone could help.

FL Studio is good. They have a free demo you can download to try it out. It is one of the most popular programs for making music.

It depends on what you want. If you want notation & playback, go with Finale or Sibelius. If you want something like GarageBand for PC, try FL Studio. If you really want to manipulate sounds, try SONAR.

I downloaded mixcraft 5 and have loved it! Ive wanted and Ipad 2 so i could get grage band. But since i dont have one and my Mixcraft trial is running out I would like to know whats the best music making software that is totally free? I mean a demo is ok if i can make and save songs. Also in this software it has to let me input voice. Any ideas on what fits this description? Thanks!

I’m looking into getting software that creates music. I can’t play any instruments so I thought I would try this instead.

I only want to make simple music and I would like the software to be easy to use. I already have Audacity, but it doesn’t seem to make music, only edit it.

Please tell me what program I should get.

If you can write traditional western music Overture from Geniesoft can create music and let you play it on your computers built-in midi interface. It’s really for creating music scores and sheet music but it’s easy to use and versatile. You might just need ScoreWriter 4. It’s a little cheap from the same site.

On a MAC you can of course use the free Garage band program. ACID by sony is a very powerfull loop mixer for PCs.

Cakewalk sonar is also very powerful for the PC, but is probably overkill.

1) Pro tools
2) Garage Band (Apple software/Mac computer required)
